Rebels vs Centurions – PREVIEW

Saturday 6th June, The Recreation Ground, Redruth RFC.

Cornish Rebels RLFC face their toughest test of the year so far this weekend as they face top-of-the-table Exeter Centurions at Redruth.

The Centurions who are drastically improved following last season are the only club apart from the Rebels to boast a 100% winning record so far.

The Rebels will need the help of points difference to go top after the game, but play their game in hand the following week away at North Devon Raiders.

The prowess of the Centurions ability was on full show last month as they had 10 players selected to play for Devon when they faced Cornwall RL in Origin 1 at Redruth. Devon skipper Alex Stevens is also Captain of the Devon-side and he will be looking to boss the game as he did then.

The Rebels go into the game with some injury concerns as Darren Jacques, Ashley Lawton and Martyn Lawrance are doubtful to be involved and player-coach Jonny Platt is still recovering from surgery. Fullback Matt Shepherd will also be absent after he was selected to play for England RFU Counties in Romania this weekend.

As always the match is free entry with match-programmes available priced at £2 each.
