Rebels and Titans come together for a great game.

Cornish Rebels and Plymouth Titans ended up clubbing together for a game of 14 v 14 as the visitors arrived with a depleted squad due to injuries and player unavailability.

The game was technically over before is started, as the Titans had failed to ‘fulfill the fixture’, but both teams were committed to delivering a game of Rugby League, and deliver they did.

There was to be no repeat of the 96-22 scoreline inflicted on Devon Sharks when they visited the rec under similar circumstances last summer, as the teams were evened off, and veteran Guy Pallett, along with Nathan Thomas, Ian Cook, Joe Martin, Calum Durant, Lewis Thomas and Decarlo Trerise became temporary Titans to get things underway.

An end to end encounter provided a spectacle for the crowd and plenty of game time for those involved.

The afternoon was only marred slightly by the growing injury list for the Cornish. Martyn Lawrance left the field after ten minutes with a feared torn hamstring, and Jamie Prisk took a knock to the knee late on. They both join Darren Jacques (shoulder), Ashley Lawton (shoulder) and Shaun Buzza (hamstrings) Jonny Platt (elbow), who all missed out today, on the treatment table.

The Rebels would like to thank the Titans who travelled, and for the crowd who cheered both teams throughout the game.

Next week, the Rebels welcome Exeter Centurions who currently sit top of the table. The winner of that game will surely decide who is front runner to take the League Leaders title.
