Greenmount- Sponsored Cornish Rebels booked their place in the play-offs of the South West League with a rampant 15 try rout of Plymouth Titans at Stonehouse Creek.
The tone for the afternoon was set as debutant Tom Cowan-Dickie broke free twice inside the first five minutes to race for the line and get the visitors out in front. Rebels hooker Darren Pellow scored an impressive 5 tries whilst Jack Scott and Nathan Allen also bagged a brace each. Allen’s both came following impressive breaks from the Centre and prop Scott enjoyed an afternoon of free-running as he continued to cause problems for the Titans defence.
Cornish half-backs Jamie Prisk and Sam Bristow continued to impress and both got onto the scoreboard with a touchdown with Prisk also kicking 6 goals in 9 attempts. Centre Sam Rhodes and loose forward Al McNab also grabbed a try each completing the scorers for the black & gold.
Plymouth took one score before the break through hooker Scott Williams, and they started the second half well with a slurry of points in the opening ten minutes. Nick Antcliffe and Kieran Horrall both went over but the Rebels soon started to find their feet again and despite another score from Horrall, they couldn’t produce enough on the day to match the Rebels physicality and strength.
