Whilst it’s a little early to share the finer details with you this very moment, 2016 is certainly going to be one to remember for our club. I wanted to update everyone on what we have been up to in preparation for a massive 12 months.
Firstly we are delighted to say that after winning the title through a Grand Final execution of Exeter Centurions we were boosted by the news that the long awaited Stadium 4 Cornwall will indeed go ahead. We have been invited to play our games there when it opens and it looks like West Langarth will be the home of Rugby League in Cornwall for many years to come after it is opened in Autumn 2017.
We have also announced our new partnership with St Helens RFC. As a Super League giant we couldn’t be happier that they have chosen to associate with us. Make no mistake, they could have approached any one of the thousands of Community RL clubs in the country and the fact that they have agreed to support us moving forward is a huge pat on the back for the hard work everyone at the club has put in for three years now and should be a solid indication of how robust our strategies and goals are moving the club and the sport forwards in the coming seasons.
The Saints will be in Cornwall in early January to deliver the Embed the Pathway CPD for schools and deliver some Rugby League experience to local secondary schools ahead of them delivering on the curriculum in 2016. Special thanks must go to St Joseph’s of Launceston, Treviglas College, Poltair School and Redruth School for receiving the CPD so far. Camborne Science & International Academy, Mullion School, Falmouth School, Liskeard Community College, Richard Lander School and Penryn College will all be added to the list of schools with the resource to teach Rugby League to their students from January. In the spring we will be running open access Rugby League development days for all participating schools in the hope of crowning our first Cornwall Champion School. Stay tuned for more on what the future holds in this area…
Finally, we have some news which we are bursting with excitement about and we hope that we will be able to share it with you very soon. In the mean time, if you would like to be added to our mailing list OR if your business would like to explore corporate opportunities with the club, then drop an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
Until then we wish all of our players, supporters, volunteers, sponsors and friends a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
All the very best
Rob & John
